Collaborative Conversations: Anti-Racism & the Environment

This is a three-week virtual workshop series regarding environmental inequality in local green space and how participants can build an anti-racism practice. Session #1 (“Equity & the Environment”) on January 14 featured award-winning educator and artist Jose Gonzalez, founder of Latino Outdoors, who discussed the impact of racism on access to green space, the response of environmental organizations and how to engage in an anti-racism practice. Session #2 (“Local Leaders Take Action”) on January 21 will present a panel of local activists discussing regional environmental justice and equity issues and steps community leaders are taking to change environmental inequity. Session #3 (“Owning Anti-Racism Work”) on January 28 will include a collective discussion by participants on how to build and sustain their own anti-racism practice.
