History of Trees in America

From oaks to sugar maples to the American chestnut, trees have played a role in our nation’s history.  Learn about them and celebrate the trees influential in your personal history and your garden in this presentation by naturalist and author Cindy Crosby. Cosponsored by the Friends of the Green Bay Trail, Glencoe Public Library and the Glencoe Sustainability Task Force.

The presenter: Cindy Crosby is the author, compiler or contributor to more than 20 books focused on natural history topics. Cindy earned her master’s degree in natural resources from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She is a Master Gardener and a contract natural history instructor for the Illinois Master Naturalist’s program and The Morton Arboretum. She is a steward for the Schulenberg Prairie at The Morton Arboretum and a steward at Nachusa Grasslands, a Nature Conservancy site with bison in Franklin Grove, IL.  Cindy blogs each week at Tuesdays in the Tallgrass.
