Did you hear the story on NPR? Municipal leaders from the US and around the world attended the North American Climate Summit in Chicago recently to discuss commitments to the Paris Agreement, and to recognize efforts by local governments to address climate change. Go Green Illinois members were urged to send information on the summit to their elected officials and invite them to participate. Let us know if your municipality was represented at the conference. Prior to the Summit, the Field Museum hosted the Chicago Community Climate Forum to provide a venue for advocates and community groups to discuss ways to work together to advance our environmental goals. They had hoped that 300 people would attend the Forum, but close to 2,000 of us showed up for the inspiring program. You can contribute by adding your thoughts to this climate agreement. Please plan to attend the follow up meeting in early 2018, and get involved in efforts to move forward on these issues.
