What we eat every day profoundly impacts our personal health and our environmental “food print.” You can reduce the carbon footprint of your diet by eating a mostly vegetarian or vegan diet full of unprocessed foods from sustainable, local farms. Purchasing local foods means less carbon is emitting in transporting the food. Unprocessed foods generally have less packaging to throw into the landfill. Sustainable farming practices preserve our land and water resources by rotating crops, using less chemicals, preserving topsoil and avoiding fertilizer runoff.
