Trail Day is a FREE celebration of the trail’s restored beauty, made possible with the support of hundreds of volunteers, numerous community organizations and generous donors.
Enjoy the trail’s blooms, butterflies, and more than 25 colorful information tables spread between Glencoe’s Shelton Park and Winnetka’s Scott Ave. bridge. Pause for breakfast bites and enjoy live music.
Obtain expert advice on sustainable gardening tips, buckthorn removal, native plant selections, tree care, birding activities, sports injury care, pet adoption and more.
The Glencoe and Winnetka Historical Societies will share the Trail’s unique history and identify its historical remnants on the trail.
Scattered along the trail will be plein air painters, a balloon artist, games, and family activities. Discover hidden fairy homes, created by residents with natural materials, hidden among the trees, wildflowers and prairie grasses.
Visit the butterfly hatchery to witness the metamorphosis of monarch butterflies and perhaps the release of mature butterflies.
Many thanks to Lead Sponsors: the Village of Glencoe, Village of Winnetka, Charles Schwab, and to the Glencoe and Winnetka Park Districts for their site assistance and support.
