This program will celebrate the wonders of avian migration. Every year birds migrate thousands of miles to find the best habitat for breeding and raising their young. In this presentation Emma England will discuss how they achieve this feat. She will talk about the large variety of birds such as warblers, orioles and hummingbirds that migrate through and stop-over in Lake County, including endangered shorebird species that can be seen at Waukegan Beach.
Emma will share her personal experiences of monitoring shorebirds at Waukegan Beach and Purple Martins that migrate from Brazil to Lake County each Spring. She will also cover what you can do to help migratory birds and protect their important habitats.
