Join members from multiple communities for a discussion of Forever Open, Clear and Free: The Struggle for Chicago’s Lakefront by Lois Wille. Every inch of Chicagoland’s shoreline has been threatened and needs continued protection from development. This book chronicles the hard-fought and never-ending battles Chicago citizens have waged to keep our lakefront “forever open, clear, and free.” We’ll discuss the history of this fight and more recent threats to the lakefront, and how important it is to continue efforts to protect it.
