Some Go Green groups have organized collections for pill bottles. They are made of a type of plastic that is accepted, but they often fall through the multi-material system at recycling (the caps especially drop through and mix with glass). This program by Mathews Ministries is reusing the bottles. This might get some groups thinking about proper recycling and reuse of materials. Another alternative for pill bottles is to contact a local animal shelter, as some need extra bottles for medications for the animals.
