Scientists from Chicago Botanic Gardens have published the results of a 21 year study of purple coneflower. They have found that “… coneflowers produced more seeds and were more genetically diverse in plots that were burned every few years, compared to those where fires were prevented.” Read the full study here or a summary of it here.
