Which Illinois organizations decided to shift their electricity use to renewable sources in 2018?  A new report tries to answer this question for each of the largest employers in 51 municipalities in Illinois that have adopted the Greenest Region Compact, a framework for environmental best practices.  It’s one of the key environmental decisions made by organizations each year, considering the importance of reducing CO2 emissions which contribute to climate change.   The report found that, overall, 25% of these organizations chose to use some renewable electricity and 1% chose to use 100% in 2018.   The summary and details, organized by municipality, can be found here.
