Under direction from the current Administration, the EPA is proposing a new rule to weaken regulations on coal power plants, replacing the Clean Power Plan of 2015.
This proposed rule – the so-called Affordable Clean Energy Rule – will cause up to 1,400 premature deaths annually by 2030 due to increases in pollution, according to estimates provided by the Administration.
The only public hearing in the entire country on this proposed rule will be held in Chicago on Monday, October 1st.
As people of faith leading the environmental movement towards justice, it is important that we speak out for clean air, clean water, and the health of our communities.
